ICE in your cell phone may save your life!
In Case of Emergency numbers in your cell phone may
help rescuers get in touch with your next of kin if you are
incapacitated because of an emergency.
“The idea is that you store the word "ICE"
in your mobile phone address book, and against it enter the
number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case
of Emergency".
In an emergency situation, ambulance and hospital
staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin
are and be able to contact them. It's as simple as that, and for
more than one contact name you can use ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc.”
writes Peter Abrahams for the Register.

There is more on the following website regarding
the ideas of the founder and implementation.

When I first became aware of this idea I put an ICE
number in my cell phone. Wouldn’t you want your next of kin
notified immediately if you were in accident? Put an ICE number
in your phone today.

WHATCHAMACALLIT?
When you know the meaning of a word but you can’t
remember or don’t know the word itself, it’s easy to
get frustrated. Welcome to another wonder of the World Wide Web –
OneLook at http://www.onelook.com
How does it work? Well you simply type in a few
words that could be used to describe the word you are looking for
and it will come up with a list of words that you can review for
the word that you were hoping to find.
Or you can type a word in the search box and
retrieve a list of links to dictionary websites that define the
word. You can even place a link to the OneLook site on the Links
toolbar in your web browser for instant access to definitions of
words you come across while surfing the Internet (especially
helpful with computer terms and other jargon).
OneLook is an award winning “search engine”
for words and phrases. It's an index to "over 6 million
words in more than 990 online dictionaries," ranging from
general dictionaries in English to foreign language dictionaries
to specialized dictionaries in various business fields and
academic disciplines, ranging from garden-variety
Merriam-Webster's to the Yiddish-Hebrew-English-German-Russian
Picture Dictionary.
Some of OneLook’s extra features include
wildcard searches when you’re not certain how to spell a
word or you’re looking for a phrase (especially helpful
when you’re stumped on a crossword puzzle). It can also
translate words into a variety of languages.
